The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!
Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Kung_Fu_Zizou
The boy wonder showed up when Turkey were in desperate need of some magic. It was the kind of powerful, controlled strike reserved for special occasions. Turkey would go on see out the tie 3-1, leaving Georgia with nothing despite a valiant showing. Arda Güler has only 2 goals for Turkey and both are absolutely fantastic.
Arda tending to drift out to the right still finds himself making runs in central areas trying to take advantage of his close control in tight spaces to help his team control possession, especially in the final 3rd. This is a part of his game that will continue to develop especially against those low-block savants in La Liga.
Arda Güler is a very special player. If he can remain healthy, he will decide many important games in the future. A pure ball striker with great balance, vision and touch. It as if he gets better every time he plays. More than the undeniable abilities of the young Turk, Arda has the mentality.. The mentality to be more desperate to win than afraid to lose. There’s still a lot more to come from him against better opponents. He has already said, he wants to leave his mark on this tournament. What a way to start
