Happy New Year From MM Mods
Dear Reader,
On behalf of the Mods, I’d like to say Happy New Year / Happy 2025 to the ManagingMadrid Community!!! It has been an honor to continually post DTs and to serve + support this ever growing community. Reflecting on the past year, it’s been a turbulent but exciting year for all Madridistas. We’ve suffered together through poor play, poor squad management, ACL injuries, Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors, Balon D’Ors being stolen, nonexistent tactics, the usual 15 mins where Real Madrid play terribly and poorly-timed Rodrygo interviews! Nevertheless, we stuck together and the team continues to persevered to win the UCL, La Liga, Uefa SuperCup, Spanish Supercup and Intercontinental Cup during this calendar year. We’ve been spoiled with simply scintillating moments (e.g., Joselu v. Bayern, Rodrygo v. City, Andriy Lunin Penalty Shootouts, Jude Bellingham in El Clasico, Dani Carvajal at Dortmund, Vini Vini Vini, AND Kylian Mbappe announcement). So MM, it has truly been a good year and hopefully we can continue with these rosier sentiments going forward!
Personally, I’m excited for 2025. It feels like this will be a New Era for Real Madrid as we truly turn towards the team’s brilliant youth. It feels like it’s finally time for Camavinga to make the leap to being classified as world class. It feels like Rodrygo is determined to ensure that the world never forgets the “R”. Kylian Mbappe seems prepped to take on the Galactico legacy. Jude + Vini look prepped to etch their names into Football History. 2025 just appears to potentially mark the true turning point for Madrid. Now, will there likely being suffering along the way? Absolutely. Its in our DNA to periodically suffer. But who knows? It just feels like no matter what eventually we will see the light at the end of the tunnel…and maybe that light includes a British RB…a Canadian…and La Barba Roja coming home?!
Anyway — Happy New Years. It’s never too late for a fresh start.
