Real Madrid’s superstar forward Kylian Mbappé has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week for his demolition job against Manchester City.
He was able to win the award through votes by users at uefa.com, and he beat Orkun Kökçü, Vitinha and Lang in the voting.
Even though there were some brilliant performances in the Champions League during the week, Mbappé was far and away the obvious winner in this situation. He carried the whole team on his back and played the most difficult opponent out of all the short-listed players.
The hat-trick was a piece of art, as all of the goals the Frenchman scored were brilliant in their own way.
Mbappé will now get ready for the next round of the Champions League, where Real Madrid will face Atletico Madrid, while also training to face Girona in La Liga and Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey.
