KLEF College of Law is organizing an Essay Writing Competition on Constitutional Law.

About KLEF

The Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a trust in the year 1980 and started KL College of
Engineering in the Academic year 1980-81. The trust was converted into a Society by the name Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation in the year 1996.

About KLEF College of Law

KLEF College of Law was established in the Academic Year 2015-16 with the prior approval of the Bar
Council of India (BCI). The College of Law at KL University is training students for the Five Year Integrated BBA. LL.B. program as well as 3 Year LL.B.

About the Competition

Samvidhan Diwas, also known as Constitution Day, is celebrated in India on November 26th every year to
commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. This day holds immense significance as it marks
the moment when the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution in 1949.

To celebrate this occasion and promote awareness about the Constitution, KLEF College of Law is organizing a National Level Essay Writing Competition as part of the Constitutional Day Celebrations.


Harmonizing Diversity – Exploring the Constitutional Imperative of a Uniform Civil Code.

Submission Guidelines

  • The word limit for the essay is 1500 words (exclusive of footnotes).
  • A cover page should be attached to the manuscript which includes the participant’s name, institution affiliation, email ID, phone number, and title of the essay.
  • Co-authorship is not allowed. Manuscript must be in English only.
  • All submissions must be original and unpublished work. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
  • Disclosure of information regarding the identity of the author within the body of the manuscript is strictly prohibited.
  • The essay must be submitted in PDF format only.
  • The name of the participant must be the file name (ex. thomasmathew.pdf).
  • Manuscript must be submitted on or before 25 November 2023, 11:59 PM through the link provided below.

Formatting & Citation Guidelines

  • Font Style – Times New Roman
  • Font Size – 12
  • Alignment – Justified
  • Line Spacing – 1.5
  • Authorities must be cited in the form of footnotes
  • 20th Edition Bluebook citation must be followed
  • For footnotes –
    • Font Style: Times New Roman
    • Font Size – 10
    • Alignment – Justified
    • Line Spacing – 1 (Single)


All students pursuing undergraduate degrees from any recognized institute are eligible to participate.

Registration Fees

There are no registration fees.

Submission Deadline

November 25, 2023


  • The top three Winners will receive a Cash Prize along with a Certificate of Merit.
  • All the participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
