Real Madrid’s match against Celta Vigo on Sunday will be officiated by Gil Manzano, it was announced on Thursday.
Real Madrid’s last five results with Manzano as a referee have been more positive than negative, with three wins, a draw and a loss for Los Blancos.
It is worth noting, however, that it is a referee who is not famous for the right reasons among Real Madrid fans, because he refereed Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw to Valencia last season, where the controversial non-goal happened in the dying seconds.
Regardless, Manzano has officiated three Real Madrid games this season, with the most recent one being in the match against Villarreal — a 2-1 win in March.
He officiated the Supercopa Clasico final in January, which Real Madrid lost 5-2 in Saudi Arabia.
Manzano wore yellow for Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Girona in December, which was the first time he officiated a Madrid game in nine months.
RMTV has released a video on Manzano as well, as they continue to put pressure on this situation.
