Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.27 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.14 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.73 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 2.73 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.14 per cent up at 25779.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 470.46 points at 25388.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1439.55 points at 82962.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 50 ended in the green, while 0 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Zomato, YES Bank and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Premier Poly, Archidply Decor, Shiva Texyarn, Suraj Ltd and Servotech Power Syst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), Future Supply Chain, Filatex Fashions, Arman Financial and Gala Precision Engin hit their fresh 52-week lows.
