Barcelona president Joan Laporta addressed the media today in a press conference. The primary focus of the session was the ongoing CSD injunction and its implications, but it was mostly on the offensive against clubs and entities who opposed the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
“I won’t reveal the private conversations, but I can say that I am very grateful to the clubs that have not taken a position against us,” Laporta said, hinting at Real Madrid act of silence in not joining the clubs who made public statements against Barcelona. “We may be rivals on the pitch, but we are on the same page in other matters,”
Although Laporta refrained from naming specific clubs, his reference to Real Madrid was clear.
Conversations with Florentino Perez
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was among those Laporta engaged with recently, though details of their discussion were kept under wraps. Laporta touched on their dialogue about the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, noting shared concerns about the tournament’s logistics and financial aspects.
“We talked about the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, that some aspects need to be improved… although the organisation was very good,” the Barcelona president said of his conversation with Perez. “The trip, being there for a week… perhaps we should be better paid and get more out of it,”
Laporta did not hold back in criticizing opposition groups within Barcelona, particularly regarding their stance on the Dani Olmo-Pau Víctor case. Accusing them of aligning with hostile media and missing an opportunity to show their support for the club, he stated, “They have been opportunists… They missed an opportunity to show that they love Barcelona.”
