Transfer News: Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro. Another swift update for the transfer news. According to Marca, the Yoro deal should be settled for around 40M + add-ons. DiarioAS believes it’ll be slightly cheaper but expect Lille to accept. Hopefully, this is finalized soon.
Lunin. The future of Lunin seems to be uncertain. It looks like Real Madrid have given Lunin a renewal but it is uncertain on whether Lunin really wants to stay. IMO, Lunin should absolutely leave and we should applaud him to do so if he wants to. He has been a great servant of the club and fully deserves to be a starter for a club challenging for at least the CL if not actual trophies. I’m also one of the few MMers who thought Kepa was actually a fine Tbo substitute and could be great back at the club. KEPA ARRIZABALAGA 2024 AND BEYOND!
The Game: Spain v. France (Euros Semifinals)
Today is the day. In a hopefully exciting semifinal match, current stars Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga, Ferland Mendy, and Aurelien Tchouameni will face our former Spanish legends KING JOSELU, Nachito, and (current legend but suspended) Dani “Gluten-Free” Carvajal. Who will win? Will Mbappe feature like Bane in The Dark Knight Rises? Will Camavinga finally score? Will Nacho make a crushing tackle on Dembele? Find out in the next episode of Euros 2024!!!
Who MM Should Root For? Probably France. A French win + Euros win would not only boost the arrival of Mbappe following a dismal tournament but it would be a good national team win for Tchouameni, Camavinga, and Mendy. Also just for a numbers game there are 4 Madrid players v. 1 (+2 former) players. So yea.
Who I and consequence will root for?: ESPAÑA. Why? This French team is soooo incredibly boring and play sooo incredibly bad. They have scored legitimately zero open play goals. Now on the other side we have some of the most exciting players of the tournament. I absolutely love Nico Williams. If not for Vini, Mbappe, and Rodrygo, I’d demand that we activated his release clause and pay him whatever he wants. I understand the underlying stats aren’t quite there but it’s also Athletic Bilbao coached by Ernesto Valverde (a good manager but a pragmatic one). And if you don’t think Lamine Yamal is talented you are simply a hater. (Aside: let’s normalize Real Madrid + Barca fans recognizing that our rival’s squad has brilliant players. Not Atleti though — they suck). VIVA ESPAÑA!
