Nico Paz has officially said his goodbyes to Real Madrid and their fans, as he is set to move to Como for six million euros. He talked humbly about being given the chance to play and score for the first team, and ended the tribute with a nice “hope to see you again”.
This was the full statement that was posted on Paz’s social media accounts:
“Hello Madridistas,
The time has come to say goodbye to this great club after eight years defending this shirt.
First I want to thank Real Madrid for having trusted me all this time, and for having made my dream of debuting and playing minutes with the first team come true, where I was able to score my first goal in the Champions League that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I would also like to thank all my teammates, coaches, physical trainers, physiotherapists, doctors, kitmen and all the club’s workers, with whom I have shared beautiful moments during all these years, and who have helped me to become the person I am today.
And finally, I would like to thank all the Madridistas for all the affection I have received during this time. A fan base that has also allowed this to be possible.

Although Paz was not able to settle down on a first-team spot as he would’ve wanted to, it is clear that he made use of the limited minutes he played for the first team — scoring a Champions League game-winner and eventually receiving the UCL winners’ medal, which is no small feat for a 19-year-old.
It was clear from the start that Paz was too good to remain a Castilla player, and this move comes at the perfect time for him and his development as a football player.
