Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(down 3.98%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.76%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.74%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(down 3.48%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 3.19%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(down 3.13%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(down 2.57%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 2.45%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(down 2.36%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 2.07%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 212.55 points down at 21717.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 723.57 points at 71428.43.
State Bank of India(up 3.6%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.08%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 3.07%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.53%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.45%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.25%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.15%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.86%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.72%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.7%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, ITC Ltd.(down 4.0%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 4.0%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 3.51%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 3.22%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 3.11%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 3.07%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 3.07%), UPL Ltd.(down 2.72%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 2.57%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.52%) closed in the red.
